MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Jul 17

Instrument: Modspec + echelle CCD

Worked for 3 hours (last half of the night)
Conditions were Mixed most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds from start until 2 AM.
   Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable
   Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable
   End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Lightning shutdown followed by a cloudy evening, eventually 
giving way to sucker holes and finally a couple of clear hours
before dawn.  Had a major problem with the shutter -- it doesn't
work -- but I noticed it early enough that I was able to 
develop a workaround that, while somewhat limiting, at least 
allowed me to get useful data when it did clear.  The trouble
