MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Jul 22 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + Echelle CCD Worked for 5 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from start until 2200. Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Heavy rains and lightning after dinner; then a long iffy period; finally good enough to open around 10 PM. A little after midnight it really did clear off nicely, in classic monsoon style, and the seeing was even good. This was very welcome as it let me clean up some bothersome loose ends in my time series work. Opening up was tricky because of consequences of multiple dome leaks, see the trouble report. Thanks everyone! It's been a good run despite the weather. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Jul 23 [5:40:49]
