MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 May 14 Observer(s): Pereira, Tonnesen Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: 8k Worked for 7 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: At start of the night we noticed the mirror A/C did not seem to be working. In the end, it didn't matter because the ambient temperature was much warmer than the last few nights. The telescope lost pointing right after we set the RA/DEC encoders at the beginning of the night, which we eventually solved by manually reseting the telescope to zenith and restarting the tcs computer. From then on, the nigth went smoothly, with good seeing, and ocasionally clear conditions. We imaged 3 fossil groups and took a few dark sky flats. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 May 15 [5:02:31]
