MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Nov 19 Observer(s): Assef & Atlee Institution(s): OSU Instrument: Direct/Echelle Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, photometric Mid: Seeing 0.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, photometric End: Seeing 0.7 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable, cirrus on horizon Observing Summary: We got through most of tonight's planned targets, but were unable to get to NGC6930 due to the need to take a few extra sky flats; the first few exposures experienced occultation by the guider mirror. We lost tracking during the last exposure of the final standard star, and the images of the stars in this field are clearly elongated along the direction of drift. We had a minor problem at the beginning of the night that caused a delay in verifying the pointing, as the telescope failed to track. This was quickly resolved with Bob's help. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Nov 20 [7:05:57]
