MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Nov 20 Observer(s): Assef & Atlee Institution(s): OSU Instrument: Direct/Echelle Worked for 7 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 1800 until 0000. Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 0.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, Photometric Observing Summary: There were heavy clouds during the first half of the night that prevented opening. We were able to cover a number of targets, but were unable to observe both of the remaining high priority targets, and chose to observe ESO544-G030. We were also unable to fit in a repeat observation of UGC6446. Weather conditions improved dramatically throughout the night, but there was still light cirrus cover for an hour or so after we opened, and the behavior of the guide star suggested atmospheric turbulence, despite the quite good seeing we measured via the imager. We once again ran into the tracking problem we encountered last night, but it was easily resolved. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Nov 21 [7:02:19]
