MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Nov 23 Observer(s): Assef & Atlee Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS/Retrocam Worked for 1.5 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate Mid: Overcast, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: There was intermittent cloud cover all night, which effectively prevented any data from being recorded until approximately 5 AM. We managed to collect observations of a spectroscopic standard and a lens during some of the open patches, but for the most part the brief clear intervals were spent re-opening and pointing the telescope. Focusing was also very difficult due to relatively poor atmospheric conditions until the end of the night. The strange pattern in the z-band images taken with Retrocam, which first appeared part way through last night, has returned. This has not prevented us from taking data, but we are unsure of the usability of the data after flat-fielding. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Nov 24 [7:03:42]
