MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Oct 19 Observer(s): Rob Siverd & Mike Eyler Institution(s): Ohio State & Naval Academy Instrument: CCDS & retrocam Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Some clouds visible at/around the time of sunset suggested the night would not be photometric. Initially, winds were very calm (3pmh average or so), especially given last night's sustained 15+ mph winds with gusts above 25mph. We observed a variety of objects in our queue successfully. Two or three times during the night, the retrocam program failed to save its image and required a Control-C followed by a restart of the retrocam program. This appeared to be an XPA-related software error that resulted from multiple running instances of DS9. This error required retaking two images, but their short duration (under a minute) did not make this a problem. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Oct 20 [5:35:50]
