MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Sep 20 Observer(s): Sebastien Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: Direct + Echelle Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Some rain fell in late afternoon and there were clouds almost right up until sunset, but then a miracle happened and it all cleared up. The seeing was subarcsecond in the first hours of the night, but then stronger winds came to shake things a bit and the seeing degraded some. It didn't last for too long, however, and the seeing crawled back to about 1.0 arcsec. The dome encoder was off by 10 degrees at closing. I suspect this occured after one particular pointing, which drifted very close to the zenith, probably confusing the system. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Sep 21 [6:27:14]
