MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Sep 24 Observer(s): Sebastien Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: Direct+Echelle Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 0.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 0.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Excellent night for parallax. Moderately good seeing at first, but then things got exciting. A band of patchy clouds flew in late in the evening, seemingly ruining things for about half an hour. In their wake, however, was a perfectly still atmosphere, yielding an amazing seeing of 0.7 arcsec which persisted almost till dawn (and at times went as low as 0.6 arcsec). This was the last night of our observing run. Lost two to bad weather, but somehow managed to hit most stars on the main target list. As always, thanks to the staff for their outstanding support. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Sep 25 [6:33:55]
