MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Feb 16 Observer(s): Statler, Riethmiller, Cotto-Figueroa Institution(s): Ohio Univ. Instrument: Retrocam Worked for 10 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing .9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: The night after a snowstorm. The sun cleared the snow off the dome efficiently during the day. Observers cleared the snow inefficiently off the sidewalks. Start of the night was too humid to open, but eventually the humidity settled down to just under 85% and we opened at 9 PM. Seeing was horrible at first (2-3 ) but got as good as 0.85 later. Observed 3 NEAs, entirely with Retrocam to compare its photometric accuracy to Echelle. The second half of the night may have been photometric. Trouble writing data CDs described in trouble report. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Feb 17 [7:05:41]
