MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Jul 02

Worked for 3 hours (off and on through the night)
Conditions were Mixed most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds all night.
   Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate
   Mid: Overcast, Winds Calm
   End: Overcast, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

We opened and closed several times tonight.  Started off fairly
well with ~1.5 arcsecond seeing, but clouds ruined observations
beyond 1am.  

First long exposure was ruined by a chip error.  Most pixels
were near saturation.  Suspicion is that chip did not clear
properly.  Also noticed that some images afterward had a  hot 
corner, wherein the lower right (around pixels 1190,10) of the
image had pixels reading 25000+.  Maybe a light leak because
the cover was off? Problem seemed to fix itself later in the
evening.
