MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Jul 31 Observer(s): Milisavljevic Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + Echelle Worked for 7 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Overcast, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Success! Obtained reasonable data on a number of targets. Aside from closing between midnight and 2am, I worked continuously throughout the night, albeit routinely wrestling with unforgiving clouds. I am very happy--thanks to everyone who helped make this possible. Small note: The surgical tube connecting the Ohio State dewer to the dipstick is cracked and/or not fastened well. There was spray-back this morning as I filled the CCD dewar. Ahh, nothing like a liquid nitrogen shower to wake you up in the morning! I can use the other available dewar but this should be fixed for the next unsuspecting person to use it. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Aug 1 [5:54:45]
