MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Jun 12 Observer(s): John Tobin Institution(s): Michigan Instrument: TIFKAM Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Due to the poor seeing, I started the night doing K-band spectroscopy on the bright protostars L43 and CB230 while hoping that conditions would improve. Seeing conditions remained poor most of the night, getting better toward the end of the night. However, the wind was from the north shaking the telescope a bit on my northern targets decreasing image quality. I did have one problem at the start of the night, the green drives start button would not stay on. I raised/lowered, and moved the platform a few times and finally it stayed on. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Jun 13 [4:23:56]
