MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Jun 25

Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD

Worked for 6.5 hours (last half of the night)
Conditions were Mixed most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Rain from 6PM until 7PM.
   Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate
   Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable
   End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable

Observing Summary:

Around 6PM had an amazing Arizona thunderstorm with penny-sized 
hail and some nearby strikes -- naturally we were shut down. 
When we came back up, we couldn't get the internet to work.  The
(land-line) phone in the lounge is suspect as well.  By around 8
it was looking better, and we opened by 10 to mostly clear skies 
and moderate humidity, after which we had a very productive night.
