MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Nov 27 Observer(s): L. Watson Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS No Observing (see comments below) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Observing Summary: We started off the night in a cloud. The clouds started clearing around 11:30pm, but left their 100% humidity behind. At around 2am, the humidity started dropping. It got down to 80% at 2:45am and I was preparing to open, but then the humidity started going back up (it is at 93% at 4:30am) and clouds moved in. Since I have to leave early for my flight, I am going to surrender to the fickle weather and go to bed. While I was waiting to see if the humidity would stop teasing me, I took calibration frames. During our tests on Wednesday night, Mark Wagner noticed that it looked like something was blocking light at a few positions along the slit. It's not surprising, but may be helpful to note that I also see this effect in my flats. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Nov 28 [4:26:32]
