MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Sep 08

Instrument: Direct/Echelle

Worked for 8 hours (most of the night)
Conditions were Mixed most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds from 19:00 until 21:20.
   Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   Mid: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Almost the same weather pattern as yesterday. It was overcast
until 9:20 pm, after which it was clear with good seeing.
Due to high humidity in the afternoon, the A/C unit for the mirror
did not cool it much. The mirror was the same temperature as the
ambient during the first half of the night, which resulted in
good seeing, ~0.8 . Around 2pm, the ambient temperature started
dropping and the humidity started increasing, which resulted in
somewhat worse seeing, but it was still better than 1.2 . Good
night overall.
