MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Sep 24 Observer(s): Fesen and Milisavljevic Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: MK III Worked for 5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Well, things started out OK. Very clear skies but only so-so seeing, around 1 - 1.5 arcsec. Seeing got a bit better near midnight. Observed until around 1 am when the instrument started to return blank or very faint images (see Trouble report). After several cold CCDCOM restarts and many other attempts to resolve the problem, we gave up at 4 am and shut down. Suspect a bad shutter. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Sep 25 [5:43:11]
