MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Aug 27 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Mostly clear night with decent seeing. Still warmer; a little breeze grew during the night. Some clouds drifted through after midnight, and they never went away entirely, but it was tolerable. No problems with telescope or instrument, though pointing did get a little sketchy at some odd telescope positions. The trap under the shop sink snagged a mouse early in the evening; I emptied it to avoid being crept out by the sight, and re-armed the trap. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Aug 28 [5:49:22]
