MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Aug 31 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: echelle direct + Buckeye FW Worked for 4 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.5-3 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Cloudy until about 11 PM, then a clear hole, then cloudy again, then usable until dawn. Around 2 AM the temperature started to plummet and the humidity started to rise, and the seeing was mediocre at best after that. But at least I got open, got some data, and made sure everything worked OK. It was never remotely close to photometric. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Sep 1 [5:58:41]
