MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Feb 03 Observer(s): R. Mark Wagner Institution(s): Ohio State University/LBT Instrument: CCDS Worked for 7 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 00:00 until 04:00. Beg: Seeing 2-3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2-3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Night started out very well. Photometric. Seeing was worse than last night and quite variable. The IR satellite showed a small group of clouds passing through southern Arizona. These started to affect observations on and off around midnight. Needing photometric skies for the CCDS throughput verification I quit around 2:30 am. There were still patchy clouds at 4:00 am. No instrument or telescope problems. When was the last 2.4 m pointing model? Tracking a star while waiting for it to clear showed some definite pointing variations that I would expect to be taken care of by an accurate pointing model. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Feb 4 [3:36:51]
