MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Jan 09 Observer(s): Julie Skinner Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: Echelle Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 0130 until 0230. Beg: Seeing >2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate, hazy Mid: Seeing >2 arcsec, Clear, Winds High, hazy End: Seeing >2 arcsec, Clear, Winds High, hazy Observing Summary: A poor night indeed: bad seeing, high winds, high humidity, & a hazy sky. The telescope was off in its pointing at the beginning of the night, but I fixed that fairly quickly. The only real problem I had was that the hose for the LN2 dewar broke mid-fill in the evening. I just reattached the broken end to the metal pipe and that seems to be working ok, although there was some leakage from the hose when I filled this morning. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Jan 10 [7:42:00]
