MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Jan 28 Observer(s): McGreer Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: CCDS Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Very nice night with some great seeing around midnight. Temperature stayed up and wind was calm until the early morning. Found one new high-z radio-loud quasar. The tracking only failed once, around 2am, even though it was only 4.5 deg. C. The pointing was subsequently lost, but after resetting at zenith it worked for the rest of the night. I did notice that the current for the track system was high (>1) when I checked a couple of times. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Jan 29 [6:57:34]
