MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Mar 06 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 9 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from start until midn.. Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Started out with lots mid-level cirrus and other high clouds, and a fair amount of wind, but it was just possible to work on bright backup targets. Conditions deteriorated around 10 PM, but improved again around midnight -- pretty soon it was clear, but with mostly mediocre seeing. Winds decreased through the night. It got pretty cool (just above 0 C) and the mirror was a bit on the warm side.
