MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Mar 09 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 10 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 4:30 until end. Beg: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate End: Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: The night started well, with near-photometric sky and surprisingly good seeing despite considerable wind. But around 10 PM or so it started to cirrus up, and it got pretty bad. Cirrus is really a problem with a nearly full moon! I did manage to make use of nearly the whole night by looking at bright backup targets. However, around 4:30 AM the humidity climbed to unacceptable levels, so I had to close. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Mar 10 [5:53:52]
