MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Mar 10 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: echelle ccd direct + Buckeye FW Worked for 10.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 0.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Finally, a really excellent night. There were some lingering fair-weather cumulus at the start, but they dissipated quickly and it was perfectly clear from then on, with consistently good seeing. Too bad it was full moon! I did notice a glitch with the RA readout, which is described in the trouble report, but fortunately I realized what was going on quickly enough that I didn't lose any time. Some of the image headers will have to be edited, though, to reflect the correct coordinates. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Mar 11 [6:51:20]
