MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Mar 11 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Echelle CCD direct Worked for 8 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 10 PM until 1 AM. Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2-3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Parallax observations. The night started and ended with good conditions, but there were a few rough hours in the middle, with bad seeing and moonlit cirrus. I stopped observing then and used some of the time to work on the 1.3m guide probe geometry. The HA encoder is still misbehaving, and was a bit more trouble tonight.
