MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Mar 17 Observer(s): Paterson & co. Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: CCDS Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Had a full night of observing with only some hazy clouds occasionally interfering. Looked a few random sources and looked at rotation along the major axis of nearby disk galaxies. While rotating the slit rotor to 90 degrees we heard a pop and when we looked at the cables it appeared that the UPS power cord had been slightly (but not totally) yanked out of its socket. We plugged it back in fully, and noticed that the outlet was a bit loose, but we heard a beep and never encountered any actual problems controling or imaging with the telescope. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Mar 18 [6:25:11]
