MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Mar 31 Observer(s): S. Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: Direct + 'echelle' Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Operated all night, getting parallax measurements for 13 nearby star targets. Decreasing temperatures and increasing wind -- it's getting chilly up here! I saw a bright 'star' slowly moving across the field of the guide camera around 3am. The thing was 7th-8th magnitude. Must have been a big satellite -- I wonder if it was the ISS. Spooky! No problems encountered. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Apr 1 [6:27:10]
