MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Sep 16 Observer(s): Crotts (for Shara) Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: CCDS Worked for 6 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The observer arrived at midnight due to transportation constraints. There was a problem starting the telescope because the emergency stop button in the dome was jammed in, and the stop/start button lights on the telescope control console were burned out. The telescope lost its coordinates at one point (to within 10 arcmin or so) and they were reacquired by pointing at a large object, M31. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Sep 18 [1:53:45]
