MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Feb 09 Observer(s): Milisavljevic and Fesen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: CCDS Worked for 6 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Opened with some cloud cover and poor seeing. Clouds cleared and seeing improved (approximately one arcsecond). Clouds rolled in around 1am and shut down. More issues with the instrument rotator tonight. Some fancy toggling of the switch was needed. Also, while rotating the instrument the encoder lost its position and I had to go back to zero and reset. Thanks Bob for showing me the tape marks! ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Feb 10 [2:16:46]
