MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Mar 12 Observer(s): Halpern, Liu, Eracleous Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: CCDS Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Observed four BAL QSOs for 1.5-2 hr each. Pretty good conditions all night. As a matter of information, it seems not possible to obtain usable bias frames during the day because the dome is not dark enough and the CCDS has light leaks. Flats in the blue-UV are problematic as well. On the other hand, the bias is so featureless that bias frames are not needed to reduce the data. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Mar 13 [6:22:31]
