MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Mar 23 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + Echelle CCD Worked for 8 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Fog from start until 8 PM . Beg: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Fog and rain today blew out by mid-evening, leaving skies mostly clear. Humidity took a while to settle and never dropped as much as I'd hoped, but it was good enough until it started climbing during morning twilight. Poor seeing early on, which improved as the mirror cooled. Dome functioned normally and may be fixed. The dome shutter clunked quite loudly a few times as it was closing, but it did operate correctly otherwise. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Mar 24 [6:02:10]
