MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Mar 24 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + Echelle CCD Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from start until 9 PM. Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Cirrusy to start, then clear for most of the night, but a little cirrus in AM. Seeing started out poor and became decent. One minor problem: Shutter control box came loose from its velcro holder and fell off when I went far over to W. I re-seated the control box on its velcro, but a wire had pulled loose (from the blue terminal) so I lost an exposure when the shutter didn't open. I reattached the wire and it worked for the rest of the night. The dome worked correctly all night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Mar 25 [6:17:51]
