MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 May 05

Worked for 10 hours (all night)
Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds from start until 22:00.
   Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds High
   Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate
   End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate

Observing Summary:


A large band of high cloud came in during the afternoon and 
lingered for much of the first half - it was also pretty breezy
but never approached the limit.  The clouds moved off (mostly)
after a couple of hours, and the winds moderated somewhat, and
things went well after that.  The dome worked perfectly all
night -- thanks are due to Bob for staying late and getting the
dome encoder working again.  The echelle chip has developed
an apparently novel noise, see trouble report.
