MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Nov 01 Observer(s): D. Milisavljevic Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: MKIII + Templeton Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: A night of frustratingly bad seeing. It remained around or above two arcseconds for most of the evening. Wind gusts of up to 20 mph were recorded. However, I still marched on, managing to make some solid observations of faint objects despite the ballooning stars all around me. Worst of all was that the seeing dramatically improved on my last standard star observation. Sigh. Overall it has been an excellent run. I'll comment once more about the efficiency of the setup I've been using. The Andor cameras allow me to setup on my targets much more quickly than in the past, saving me A LOT of overhead and making me REALLY happy. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Nov 2 [5:06:57]
