MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Oct 08 Observer(s): D. Milisavljevic Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Mark III + Templeton Worked for 8.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: A rough start. Guider probe reached limit and I could not achieve focus. Spoke with both John and Bob on the phone who talked me through the procedure. After over an hour of pushing and pulling, grunting and cursing, I managed to get things good enough to move on. And then the magic started.... The new Andor cameras work beautifully. They will take some time to master, but their potential is great. Targets normally difficult to acquire were landed on with relative ease. I *really* like this setup. No doubt the nice weather, photometric skies, and excllent one arcsecond seeing helped. I look forward to pushing the limits of this setup over the next few days. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Oct 9 [5:59:05]
