MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Oct 13

Worked for 5 hours (part of the night)
Conditions were Mixed most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable
   Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate
   End: Clear, Winds Moderate

Observing Summary:

Remained closed until 9:30pm because of threatening clouds.
Observed until 2:30 when clouds rolled back in. Did not reopen.

Small annoyance mid-evening when I could not stop the slit view
computer from restarting itself while I was exposing.
Apparently Windows Vista thought rebooting to install new
updates was more important than what I was doing. (No wonder
this operating system didn't last long.) Luckily I
could work blindly and didn't lose any real time. In the future
it would be nice if we could disable the auto-update feature.
