MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Oct 15 Observer(s): Tom Statler, Dave Riethmiller Institution(s): Ohio Univ Instrument: Direct/Templeton Worked for 6.5 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Overcast, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Continuing our near Earth asteroid rotation/lightcurve program. Start delayed due to clouds. Opened around 10 pm and observed one target for about 1.5 hours, then clouds forced us to close for 2.25 hours. Opened again around 1:15 am and observed through clouds the rest of the night. Used new guider for the first time; eventually figured out how to use it. JSkyCalc24mGS is a help, but there is an unknown offset in guide probe coordinates that results in guide stars being out of the guider field most of the time. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Oct 16 [6:33:24]
