MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Oct 23 Observer(s): Atlee Institution(s): Ohio State Instrument: TIFKAM Worked for 3 hours (off and on through the night) Bad weather most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 2100 until 0500. Beg: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable, dome humidity 85% Mid: Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Conditions were good at the beginning and end of the night, but observing was interrupted by sudden overcast at the beginning of the night, and by humidity just before 9 PM. I completed two photometric standard observations and partial imaging sequences of two cluster fields. One quadrant (chip?) of the detector showed an intermittent striping. This condition sometimes went away after a slew. I lost 45-60 minutes attempting to solve this problem before hearing from Bob, who diagnosed it as a problem with the head electronics. This resolved itself shortly before Bob's call and did not recur for the rest of the night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Oct 24 [6:54:46]
