MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Sep 06 Observer(s): Schroeder Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: 8K Worked for 9 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 6 pm until 8 pm. Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Overcast, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Clouds early in the evening lifted revealing a fairly clear sky with great seeing later in the night. Arlin and I were not able to get B-sky flats and the R-sky flats I collected were marginal due to my unfamiliarity with the instrument. I'm not sure where the instructions for dome flats are, but since the instrument is coming down, we'll have to do. Finally, John Thorstensen recommended using the Andor camera for the guider. I'd like to try that when Echelle is put on the telescope tomorrow. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Sep 7 [6:02:17]
