MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Sep 28 Observer(s): S. Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: Direct + Nellie Worked for 7 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Overcast, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Difficult observing conditions with many bands of patchy clouds veiling the sky at times. Also seeing was OK but not optimal. Just good enough for the astrometry to be decent. Observed 16 parallax targets. Nellie behaved without any trouble. This confirms that the problems experienced last night were indeed due to the Echelle camera itself. The new guiding system with the Andor camera is easy to use and works like a charm. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Sep 29 [7:38:54]
