MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Apr 16 Observer(s): Jackie Faherty Institution(s): American Museum of Natural History Instrument: Nellie Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Everything worked well tonight except ~2 hours into the night the telescope pointing seemed to go way off. I had just set the RA/DEC encoders on the last target using the centermdm program. I suspect the strange off pointing was my own fault (not like last night where it just seemed to get way off on its own). I possibly had the wrong object qued up (although I can't imagine how that happened). At any rate I had to reset the pointing once again but this time it only took 15 minutes (John had told me about the post it note on the glass window by the control room door that had the correct tilt degrees). There were high cirrus throughout the night. The pointing and tracking of the telescope worked wonderfully. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Apr 17 [6:09:04] NOTE: This report replaces the previous 2.4m telescope observing report for 2011 Apr 16
