MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Jan 31 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + Templeton; Retrocam Worked for 9 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from start until 8 PM. Beg: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: A nasty storm blew through during the day, leaving a deck of fast-moving cumulus and dropping temperatures at sunset -- but after an hour or so, it cleared off beautifully! This was a very fast-moving event. It was on the windy side all night, but the seeing wasn't bad -- perhaps the limited daytime warming had some effect. Closed a tad early to get to the airport -- thanks to all for the help! ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Feb 1 [5:48:29]
