MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Mar 18 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + Templeton; Retrocam Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing <1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Bright moon but good weather, with just a little light cirrus at the start. Managed to get usable guider focus manually at the start of the night (motor mic isn't working). A retrocam sequence guided pretty well on a wildly out-of-focus image. Minor glitch -- went to reset the rotator at the end of the night and the little light didn't want to come on. It might be OK -- I didn't investigate exhaustively. Otherwise everything worked well. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Mar 19 [6:38:02]
