MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Mar 28

Worked for 10 hours (all night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm
   Mid: Seeing 1.5+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Some light cirrus at the beginning of the night, but it cleared up later. 
No serious problems, although the guider started doing a not-so-good 
job towards the end of the night-- all I had to do was run another exposure 
and restart the tracking and it did fine for awhile but eventually 
stopped doing a good job again and I had smeared images. I was kind of baffled. It 
might have to do with the scripts I'm running that use the guide probe to dither... 
but this worked fine the past three nights, so I don't know why it's failing now.

Anyway, it only affected a few frames-- I was able to get it to work well enough 
most of the time. Other than that, all was well -- I've almost gotten through 
all of my targets; one more night (assuming it's clear) will suffice.
