MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Mar 30 Observer(s): M. Dietrich Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm End: Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: During the first half of the night strong cirrus lowered the transparency and the conditions got worse toward the middle of the night with some cloud cover. For a while only stars brighter than 2 to 3 mag were visible and the guide stars were lost. At the end of the night the transparency improved. In spite of these conditions spectra of 5 BALQSOs were recorded. In the case of the fainter ones the spectra show a very low count rate (~30cts max.). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Mar 31 [5:50:03]
