MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 May 17 Observer(s): Antognini, Stoll, Martini Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 8 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 3 until dawn. Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm, High Humidity Observing Summary: Although the night began with quite clear skies, We closed too soon due to the threat of dew. The dome humidity began to rise, So we closed up before it further grew. The night was not a total loss for us; Except for one slight snag; the rotator Did not respond, but rather made a fuss-- We power cycled it and saw no more. Our data I report in these short posts: High redshift quasar candidates we sought; Took measurements of supernovae hosts' Rich metallicities; and then we got Both spectra of some galaxies with bars And spectrophotometric standard stars. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 May 18 [5:20:24]
