MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Oct 26

Worked for 10.5 hours (most of the night)
Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds all night.
   Beg: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate
   Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate
   End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable

Observing Summary:

Domes were closed from sunset to 7:30 (MST) due to clouds.  We observed
with OSCAM in imaging mode for most of the night and then in 
spectrograph mode for the final 2 hours of the night.  We were
able to operate the spectrograph properly with great success.

We experienced a problem with the dome.  At approximately 4:30 (MST)
the dome stopped auto-aligning itself with the telescope and aligned 
itself at about 90 degrees away from the telescope pointing.  We were 
able to manually align it for our final work and skyflats.  The TCS
display reads the message,  DOME Encoder Not Responding  at the end
of the night.
