MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Sep 07 Observer(s): Matthias Dietrich Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 5.5 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 19:00 until 23:30. Beg: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm, heavy cirrius Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Opened dome at 19:05, checked pointing and determined the focus. While working on the slit acquisition of the first target the cloud cover went up to about 90%. After waiting for about 30min, closed dome (20:20). At 23:40 the dome was opened again, the strong cirrus appeared to decrease. Again pointing and focus. During the rest of the night 2 standard stars and three BALQSOs were observed. The seeing was around 2 arcsec at the beginning of the night, in the middle of the night ~1 arcsec, and at the end of the night even a little better than 0.9 arcsec. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Sep 8 [6:09:30]
