MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Sep 09 Observer(s): Paul Martini, Joe Antognini Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS (Red detector) Worked for 5 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 19:00 until 23:30. Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable, High humidity Mid: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: The first half of the night was cloudy. After a few hours the clouds cleared up, but we had to remain closed due to high humidity. By 7 UTC we could open up. The seeing was not great, but we didn't have any problems with clouds for the rest of the night. We tested the red-sensitive detector on a spectrophotometric star and a few high-z quasars. Its sensitivity seemed to be anomalously low, so we did not have much luck detecting the high-z quasars. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Sep 10 [5:27:20]
